Palermo & Monreale
Palermo is a subject in itself.
The capital of Sicily is a city of a million inhabitants
and offers many reasons to be visited over several days.

However, if you only have time for a short visit to get an idea of what Palermo is about, it is possible to visit on a day trip from Taormina.
Palermo can be considered four cities in one!
Most tourists are looking for the splendor of the Arab-Norman Middle Ages in the Norman Palace and nearby Monreale.
Others are enthusiastic about the old town, dominated by the proud Spanish Baroque.
Many are also surprised by the elegant Liberty style of Palermo, as the Universal Exhibition of 1892 attracted all of whom had rank and name.
Then there is the fourth Palermo – the one of the building speculation – something really rather forgotten, but that cannot be erased now.
Finally, Palermo is a city in which you have the union of opposites in a landscape of superlatives: the famous Conca d’ Oro, Monte Pellegrino and the bay of Mondello, as well as the seaside resort of Palermitani.
